Creating a pathway for agency is what my 'Why I Teach' has morphed into over the last few years. The move that the State has made toward SEL supports that when scholars know where they are academically, socially, and emotionally, they can use the tools they've been equipped with to move their own needle because they intrinsically want to improve, not because I or someone else tells them they have to.
